Since 1999, the Cooking Contest Central “Hall of Fame” has been a way to honor the most prolific members of our community.  Over the years our founder, Betty Parham, hand-picked 19 deserving home cooks for this high honor.  Betty herself was inducted into the Hall of Fame posthumously in 2011, rounding out the membership to this coveted group at 20.

When I came on board as the new owner of Cooking Contest Central in late 2012, I knew the Hall of Fame was an integral part of our community, but I wasn’t sure how to proceed.  I didn’t feel comfortable simply selecting 2012 and 2013  inductees myself, and thus this high honor has remained dormant for the past few years.

I think it is time we revived this special part of our community and added more names to our Hall of Fame!

I started by creating an award certificate, perfect for framing and ready to proudly display on a desk, the wall of an office or even right in the kitchen!

If you are a past Hall of Fame inductee, I will be reaching out to get your mailing address.   All 20 of our Hall of Fame members will receive this official certificate with their name and the year they were inducted.

Now for the exciting part – Who will be our newest members to the Hall of Fame for the years 2012 and 2013?

This is where you come in.  From Friday April 25th, through Friday May 2nd we will be accepting new names to be nominated for the Hall of Fame!

Here is how it will work:

-Email Kristina@CookingContestCentral.com

-Include the names of TWO Cooking Contest Central members who you believe deserve to be honored in our Hall of Fame.

-Include one short sentence for each nominee describing why you think they deserve this award.

*** Remember, there are many qualities that make someone qualified for this honor.  Of course you can consider someone who is a frequent winner, but also think about members who contribute to the success of our community in other ways as well.  Those who are always willing to help out a fellow member, or even those who just have a positive attitude and keep our spirits high!

After the nomination period closes, I will review the emails and reveal the two members who received the most nominations from their fellow contesters in our community.

The 2012 and 2013 new Hall of Fame inductees will be announced online and through our newsletter on Sunday May 4th.
