Write a Recipe, Win a House!?
This week we discovered a new trend in the recipe contest world. Not one, but TWO contests came out where the prize is a HOUSE. That’s right – the winner gets a house.
Now, these contests do require a $100 entry fee (something we don’t normally list here on CCC). Essentially, this is a new take on a sweepstakes trend that has been going on for several years now. In these sweepstakes entrants pay a somewhat hefty ticket fee to be entered into a lottery to win a home or other large prizes. The difference here is that it is not a sweepstakes, rather a skill-based contest where a winner is selected by judges rather than randomly drawn.
What do you think? Would you gamble the $100 entry fee to possibly win a house? Or would it be too much of a logistical headache if you actually won? Chime in!
Win a house in Northern California:

Win a house in the DC area:
Yes, if it was in an area that appealed to me!
Not me, although I’d love to have a house.
If it was a house either what is want to live our close enough to be a landlord
WHERE I’d want to live! (Darn autocorrect)
I think I’d be willing to gamble. However, like the others, I would want for the home to be near where I already reside. And I do live in Northern California so I’m checking this out!
I would caution all to enter this ‘contest’. The company and entry requirements all suspicious. I.E. $100 cashiers check entry fee, a tweaked non-original recipe is okay, no photo required, its a home that was recently renovated by an investor…why would they relinquish that profit…too many other things makes me smell a rat.
