2002 Whirlpool Accubake
Unique Cake Contest
The Whirlpool Accubake Unique Cake Contest was held in Atlanta at the end of 2002, and CCCentral was well represented by several Finalists. Contestants stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead, were wined and dined at the Atlanta Fish Market, and were carted around town by limousine. Besides the trip, all the finalists won a Whirlpool Accubake oven, and CCCentral member Elizabeth Kisch of Dayton, Ohio, took the $10,000 Grand Prize with her "Chocolate Coffee Toffee Cake."
The cake-off took place at a brand new kitchen facility called the Whirlpool "insperience" Studio. Judges for the event included Gale Gand from "Sweet Dreams" on the Food Network, Lynne Blanchard from the test kitchens of Better Homes & Gardens. The pictures below were provided by CCCentral member Jackie Smola.
