2003 FLORIDA CITRUS COOK-OFF
Florida’s Natural Growers selected three home cooks and three professional chefs from over 2,000 entries to compete in their Citrus Recipe Cook-off. Preliminary judges selected 53 out of that field. From there it was narrowed down to three home cooks -- all CCCentral members -- and three professional chefs for the final competitions. Finalists won a trip for two to Orlando, Fla., a four-night stay at Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel, park passes and a fabulous gift basket.

Food professionals Margaret Sheridan, Senior Restaurant Editor for Restaurants and Institutions Magazine, Richard Zerr, Executive Chef at the Chalet Suzanne Restaurant and Country Inn in Lake Wales, Florida and Betsy Wray, Editor of Cooking Pleasures magazine judged the final competitions.

In the home cook category, Cooking Contest Central member Priscilla Yee, of Concord, Calif., won the $10,000 grand prize. First place honors and $1,000 gift certificates to Williams-Sonoma went to CCCentral members Nikki Norman, of Winter Park, Fla. and Milton, Tenn., and Sharyn Hill, of Organ, N.M.
