The first Zehnder's Squashtoberfest was held in Frankenmuth,
Michigan on October 21, 2009. The festival was fun, with
cooking and fruit carving demos for the audience to watch
while finalists were cooking their creations. Zehnders
provided "assistants" who washed dishes, transported food to
and from ovens, and fetched whatever the cooks needed. They
plan to hold another contest next year.
