2011 CAVIT GOURMET PIZZA CLASSIC

The Cavit Gourmet Pizza Classic was held in New York, on November 5, 2011. Home pizza chefs were asked to enter their best original gourmet pizza recipe with a favorite Cavit Collection wine pairing. CCC'er Lisa Speer won a trip to Italy with her winning pizza.

Finalist Michael Tassone turned up the heat
with his very tasty and spicy "Pizza Fra Diavolo
- Old World Style," paired with Cavit Merlot

"Crispy Artichoke Red Pepper Pizza," paired
with Cavit Cabernet Sauvignon

Grand Prize!
The trip included stays in Verona and Venice. This
photo of the Speers was taken in Venice in front
of the Basilica San Marco. It was certainly difficult
to say arrivederci to Cavit and Italy - what an amazing experience!
