Tell us about your winning recipe.  Why is this one of your favorite appetizers for entertaining?

I have always loved Muffulettas, and growing up in the New Orleans area, I have had my fair share of them. I’m pretty sure almost every single wedding, shower or party I went to growing up had some form of them served. Whether it was the huge whole loaf version or the cute little mini ones, they were always available. It combines so many things I love together- carbs, cheese, salty briny olives and a few delicious Italian cold cuts. It wasn’t until I was in college that I had my first toasted Muffuletta and ever since then I don’t want mine any other way! When brainstorming what I could make for the appetizer contest, it wasn’t hard to decide on this version of one of my favorite sandwiches . The cheese gets melty and gooey, the bread is traded up for puff pastry, and with the olive salad as a topper instead of just an afterthought, I can load mine with as much as I want!

Fiesta Slate and Sage

Do you have any plans for the Fiesta ware prize?

I am so thrilled to win this Fiesta prize! My mother-in-law gave me my first set for Christmas and I absolutely love it! I am so happy to add to the pieces I just got. I’ve never had new plate settings before that, I’ve always just had mis-matched hand me downs that chipped and don’t hold up well. The Fiesta pieces are gorgeous and I can tell they are durable enough to last a long time.

That’s great!  Since the new Slate and Sage colors are designed to mix and match, I am sure all the products in the prize will blend in perfectly with your current pieces!
