This week I will be heading to the Grand Wailea resort in Maui, Hawaii for the James Beard Foundation’s Celebrity Chef Tour!

The Grand Wailea is hosting some of the nation’s top chefs for receptions, dinners and wine pairings this Friday and Saturday, January 23-24, 2015.  The Celebrity Chef Tour includes culinary luminaries Jonathan Waxman, Johnny Iuzzini, Bruce Bromberg, Nancy Silverton, Tiffany Derry and Mixologist Manny Hinojosa.

This celebration in Maui is the 2015 kick-off to a series of events from coast to coast.  The Celebrity Chef Tour is a way to bring the unique experience of dining at New York City’s historic James Beard House to cities around the country.  Each Celebrity Chef Tour meal is an unforgettable work of artistry and craftsmanship.  Check out other upcoming events in Washington D.C., Napa, Nashville, and more!

Throughout the events, guests have the rare opportunity to interact with the chefs during the festivities. This is where you come in CCC!

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to cover these events and will also have a few minutes to interview the celebrity chefs in attendance.  Be part of the action by leaving a comment below!

  • What do you want me to ask the chefs?
  • Are there any Hawaiian ingredients or recipes you want me to bring back and share?
  • Anything you want to know about staying and dining at the Grand Wailea Resort?

Let’s make this an interactive experience for all of us!  I will ask as many of your questions as I can and will be posting photos and videos from the events on the Cooking Contest Central Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.  Stay tuned!

What an exciting opportunity! I’d like to know what is their most requested recipe? What is the one kitchen item they couldn’t live without and would recommend to others? Have fun Kristina!

Local spice blends used on the islands would be fun.

I would love to add some new gluten free recipes to my routine, and some new ones from Hawaii would be a wonderful change!
