I am thrilled to announce the winner in our Members-Only Mini Recipe Contest…

Congratulations to Naylet LaRochelle for her “Mini Salted Butterscotch Apple Pies a la Mode!”

This bite-sized dessert is fun to eat and is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.  Our judge loved Naylet’s use of the trendy sea salt in a cute and clever take on a classic recipe.  Overall, she found the flavors were appealing and appreciated the clarity in Naylet’s recipe writing technique.

Naylet says,

“Making these little pies were lots of fun!  I love to eat and bake pies…..pies are my favorite!  So when I saw this contest posted on CCC, the first thing that came to mind were mini pies! Apple pies are one of my favorite, and I love to pair them with butterscotch.  I think the two are a marriage made in heaven!  YUMMY!   The idea of the adding the mini scoop of ice cream “a la mode” did not come to me until I was prepping for the picture.  I think it looked so cute and extra delicious.  My kids and family went through the first batch without giving me a chance to take a picture of one for the contest. So I waited for my husband to take the kids to the store with him before making the second batch!  After I submitted the recipe and picture to the contest, I shared the picture of the mini pie with a friend of mine.  She loved them and asked me to make them for her upcoming baby shower!

I really wanted to win an iPad Mini.  My kids have their share of electronic devices, and sadly, I am not as “tech trendy” as they are.  So definitely looking forward to being one tech trendy mom now!  Can’t wait to receive my new mini iPad and stay up-to-date with contests posted on CCC. I love the idea of offering a contest just for our cooking community!  I like the idea of a fun, fair contest among my the very best home cooks across America…..my CCC cooking peers!”
