Nina Compton and Nicholas Elmi have survived twenty nine challenges to reach the finale.ย For their final challenge, they must create a four course menu in a pop-up restaurant.
Since Nick won the last challenge, he gets to choose all of his sous chefs from a collection of the previous challengers first.ย ย Nick chooses Jason, Louis, and Brian.
Nina chooses Shirley, Stephanie and Travis to assist her in this final challenge.
The two finalists sit down with their assistants to come up with their menu.ย Nina decides she wants to add two extra courses to her menu. Then it is off to shopping and setting up the restaurant.ย Nina wants to make an ice cream for dessert, but after the groceries are purchased, Travis calls to tell her there is no ice cream machine.ย Nina adjusts her plans and the cooking begins in earnest.
Tom and Emeril check in on the contestants and tell them they will are taking the two finalists to dinner after prep is done.
Once at dinner in a beautiful outdoor location, Tom has a surprise for the Chef.ย Nickโs Wife and his Mother, and Ninaโs Husband and her brother join them for dinner.ย Both Chefs are ecstatic to see their family members.
At service the next day, things go very smoothly for Nina.ย She serves a six course menu to the judges.

The Judging is close.ย There are small things wrong with each contestants meal, Ninaโs Swordfish was too salty, Nicks first course was under seasoned, his Duck inconsistently cooked.ย Ninaโs dessert too small.
It is a tough call, but the Judges finally come to a decision.
Nick is the new Top Chef.
What is YOUR opinion?ย Did the judges make the right call?

They are obviously both wonderful chefs, and it must be difficult to pick a winner. If I saw both menus without even knowing who made what, I would have selected Nick’s. I love Top Chef, Top Chef Masters, and Chopped, and never tire of watching them. Good job, Nicole! Looking forward to the next seasons of all these shows.
I didn’t get to watch every episode, but overall, I felt Nick had that special something that would make him the winner. Still a great show after all these years!
I liked Nina
I know life doesnt work that way but I didnt like Nicks attitude, his temperament, All I kept thinking was I was so glad I never would have to meet this angry, self centered man.
The one episode when he won immunity and his meal was the worst…..and he let the other chef go home…..all throughout the show he kept saying he wanted his child to be proud. What an example he showed-of being true to oneself. !!
Was not impressed with him at all.
I really wanted Shirley and Nina to compete. Both were excellent chefs and class acts.
First time ever I was so disappointed with the results that I dont know if I will watch it next season
