My German mom made this pie often but she always make her own pie crusts from scratch. Her pie filling was made from fresh fruit. I modernized her recipe and made it easy with only 4 ingredients. This is ideal for the busy cook!

Ingredients

  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts
  • 2 cans (20 oz) fruit pie filling, (such as apple, peach, cherry, blueberry, lemon)
  • 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. On lightly floured surface, stack two pie crusts on top of each other. Roll to a 17" x 11" rectangle. Lay crust on a 15" x 9" baking sheet. Fold dough under to create an edge all around and then crimp. Spoon pie filling evenly onto the crust.
  2. Bake 45 to 55 minutes at 375°F until bubbly and golden brown.
  3. Mix the sugar and milk together until smooth. Drizzle over cooled pie.
