Tick-Tock!

Tomorrow we will be counting down the the last few minutes of 2013, but don’t forget, just a few short days later is the deadline to enter the Scharffen Berger “Chocolate Adventure Contest!”  This year the theme is “Bar” recipes for a chance at the $25,000 grand prize.

REMINDER:  The deadline is January 2, 2014 at 11:59:59 PM Pacific time!

All you have to do is use  Scharffen Berger chocolate along with one or more of these 12 adventure ingredients to create an original Bar recipe:

Bourbon
Turbinado Sugar
Fresh Pomegranate
Hibiscus
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Peppercorn (any type—black, green, red)
Pandan Leaf or Pandan Leaf Extract
Coconut Milk, Cream, Butter or Oil
Oat Flour
Carrot
Sesame Seeds (black or white)
Fresh Croutons or Crostini

Here are a few last minute tips:  

1)  Read Official Rules carefully.   Always my #1 tip in any recipe contest!

2)  Take a peek at the contest Judges this year.  Knowing your audience is another key to success.

3)  Browse the previous winners.  Don’t forget, CCC members have had great success in this contest.  Including our very own Merry Graham for her “Margarita Moon Pies” last year!
