In Southeast Asia drink desserts like avocado smoothies, are very popular. I grew up enjoying coffee avocado milk shakes during hot afternoons. Make this ahead of time. If you wish, you can add a scoop of ice cream before sprinkling with chia seeds.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed, peeled, ripe Hass avocadoes
  • 1 1/2 cups 2 % chocolate milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened good quality COCOA POWDER
  • 2 teaspoon instant espresso powder
  • 3 tablespoon dark brown sugar or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 4 tablespoon ground, toasted WALNUTS
  • 1 tablespoon CHIA SEEDS + more for garnish
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoon Kalhlua or 2 teaspoon imitation rum (optional)
  • green sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in blender . Blend until smooth.
  2. Adjust sweetness to taste, then place in freezer until very cold, but not frozen.
  3. Divide over 2 chilled dessert glasses. Garnish with a sprinkle of chia seeds and a green sprig.
