Jalapeño Peach Glazed Breakfast Ham
Sweet-Heat; we love the combination, don’t we? The sweetness of Bonne Maman Peach Preserves melds beautifully to bring a perfect balance of spicy heat to this Jalapeño Peach Glazed Breakfast Ham.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon garlic olive oil, or cooking oil of choice
- 1 large garlic clove, finely chopped
- 1 (3-inch) jalapeño, seeds and membrane removed, chopped
- 1/4 cup Bonne Maman Peach or Apricot Preserves
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 6 (1/4-inch thick) ham slices or 3 large ham steaks
Instructions
- In a large skillet, warm oil over medium heat. Add garlic and jalapeno, stirring constantly, cook 2 minutes or until jalapeños are soften and garlic is golden. Adjust heat to medium-low, if needed, to prevent burning. Transfer jalapeno-garlic mixture to a small bowl, add peach jam and lime juice, and stir until well combined.
- Place skillet back on burner, over high heat, fry ham slices 1 minute and turn over. Add Jalapeño Peach Glaze, stirring constantly, until thick and caramelize, about 2-3 minutes. While glaze is thickening, turn ham slices over several times to coat. Adjust heat to medium, if needed, to prevent burning. Turn heat off when sauce has adhered to the ham. Transfer ham to a platter and scrape any sauce or bits of peach and jalapeño from the pan onto the ham.
Notes
This recipe is the very reason why I create recipes for cooking contests! I just created a super delicious new recipe that is a keeper! I have not thought of simply mixing jalapeños, garlic, peach jam, and lime juice to create the tastiest glazed ham ever, until Cooking Contest Central hosted a breakfast and brunch recipe contest! Thank you CCC. Don’t be afraid of the jalapenos in this recipe the spicy heat is ultra light, I promise! I’m eager to serve this to my family on Easter.
