Yum

A delicious “twist” on a traditional dish. Using Mann’s Broccoli Slaw in place of cabbage (as in the traditional Haluski, also known as Fried Cabbage and Noodles) adds more flavor and makes a very colorful and inviting side dish.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces (1/2 of a 12-ounce bag) wide egg noodles, cooked "firm" as directed on package and drained
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups Mann's Broccoli Slaw (1/2 of a 12-ounce package)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a 4-quart Dutch oven until just getting crisp. Remove from pot and drain on paper towel lined plate. Crumble when cool enough to handle. To the same pot, add the onion, Mann's Broccoli Slaw, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring often, until vegetables are crisp/tender, about 3-4 minutes. Add the cooked noodles, broth and crumbled bacon. Mix well and continue to cook 2-3 minutes or until some of the broth cooks away and mixture is heated through. Season with additional salt and pepper if desired. 4 servings.

Notes

This delicious side dish pairs well with smoked sausage for a hearty meal. Perfect for the cold winter months ahead of us.
