Pink Tropical Smoothie
Posted in: Beverages Tagged: SmoothieRecipeContest

This smoothie packs protein and iron rich super greens and Greek yogurt with flavorful raspberries, a little lycopene filled tomato, and a some potassium rich banana for good measure. At just about 300 calories, this 16 ounce wonder will put you in the pink, delivering over 14 grams of protein, more than 100% of your daily Vitamin C needs, 22% of Calcium and 15% of iron. Plus, it’s DELICIOUS!
Ingredients
- 5.3 ounces Pineapple Greek Yogurt, (fruit on the bottom style suggested)
- 1/2 cup fresh Baby Spinach, loosely packed
- 1/2 cup raw Red Chard, loosely packed
- 1/2 cup Fresh Frozen Raspberries
- 1/2 medium Banana, frozen and peeled
- 1/2 Kiwi, peeled
- 2 ounces Cucumber, raw and peeled
- 1/2 medium Red Tomato
- 1/2 medium Fresh Pear, peeled and cored
- 1/2 cup cold Water
Instructions
- Wash and peel fruit and veg.
- In a blender (or large blending cup with immersion blender) combine all of the ingredients and top with cold water. Pulse blend to break up the greens, then blend on high speed until all of the greens are fully ground.
- Pour into a chilled, large (16 ounce / pint size) glass and serve!
Notes
I like to keep all of my fruit and veg "extras" in the refrigerator for use in the next morning's smoothie. Note: do not be put off that the bananas will go brown looking in the freezer, they are perfectly delicious when blended.
