Purple Sunrise Smoothie

With oats, berries, and yogurt, this smoothie is a nutritious breakfast on the go!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup prepared steel cut oats
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup low fat buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons organic blue agave
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 6 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except the ice in a blender. Starting on the lowest speed, blend until smooth, gradually increasing the speed.
  2. Add the ice cubes and again blend until smooth.
  3. Strain through a seive into a glass.
  4. If desired, garnish with a mint sprig and serve.
