Tropical Triple Berry Smoothie

I have never been a big smoothie fan until recently, when I made a commitment to eat healthier. I must say that smoothies are a fantastic and easy way to do that. This is my go-to smoothie recipe lately and I believe those wonderful chia seeds play a key role in keeping me full for hours.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup organic fat free milk (plus more to thin if necessary)
  • 1/2 cup lowfat organic yogurt or greek yogurt, vanilla or plain
  • 1 teaspoon organic coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon raw organic honey
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 teaspoons flax meal
  • 1/2 cup frozen triple berry mix (usually strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, but any combination will do)
  • 1/4 cup frozen mango cubes
  • 1/4 cup frozen pineapple cubes

Instructions

  1. Place ingredients in the order listed in a blender and process until smooth, adding extra milk if necessary to thin out. 1 serving.

Notes

Fresh ingredients can be used, but frozen fruit makes it thick and rich.
