If you are watching the news right now, you know that much of the country is blanked in snow and ice storms.  This morning I was packing for a trip to Chicago, and now I am frantically calling the airlines trying to see if I can even get out of New York sometime this weekend!

You see, I am supposed to be attending the International Home and Housewares Show this weekend.  Imagine for a moment, a huge convention space with aisle after aisle of the newest and coolest kitchen ware, gadgets, appliances, and tabletop decorations.  Sounds like heaven, right?  For passionate cooks like us, it certainly is!

As I am attempting to re-book, I figured I would share with you a couple of vendors who will be showcasing their products at the show.  Plus, a light and refreshing red wine spritzer to sip is exactly what I need while waiting on hold!

One of the newest additions to my kitchen is this Magic Chef Portable Countertop Ice Maker.

I love this appliance because it can make ice in as little as 7 minutes!  In fact, it can make up to 27 lb. of ice per day to help provide you with a steady supply of ice. It is just what you need to continuously fill your ice bucket or beverage pitchers when you are entertaining friends and family.

I am excited to stop by the Magic Chef booth to see what other exciting products and appliances they have to offer this year!

Another booth that is always a “must see” at the show is breathtaking tabletop offerings from Iittala.  I am a huge fan of this Finnish brand and my kitchen cabinets are stocked with their stunning dishes and glassware.

This Berry Red Wine Spritzer was photographed in the “IIttala Ultima Thule” double old fashioned glass.

Ultima Thule glassware was designed in 1968 and was used in the first Finnair flight in 1969, and later in their first class cabin service. The term “ultima thule” was used in medieval times to refer to places “beyond the known world,” or sometimes, to Scandinavia. Evocative of an icy landscape of the furthest reaches, Ultima Thule is the most popular line of glassware ever produced by Iittala.
