Cornish Hens On the Grill

These hens are a fun change from chicken. Quick, easy and so yummy!
Ingredients
- For the sauce,
- 2 cans tomato juice (5-1/2 oz)
- 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon molasses
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne papper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/4 cup chili sauce
- For the hens,
- 2 Cornish game hens
- 4 garlic cloves
- olive oil
- salt
- black pepper
Instructions
- Pour out half of the tomato juice from each can into a small bowl. In the small bowl, add brown sugar, molasses, cayenne pepper, paprika, soy sauce and chile sauce until well mixed. Set sauce aside.
- Place 2 garlic cloves in each juice can.
- Coat the hens with a little olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Place 1 hen on each juice can. Brush hens with sauce previously made.
- Line barbecue rack with aluminum foil. Place hens on grill over medium heat. Grill with lid closed 40 to 45 minutes or until juices run clear. Baste once after about 20 minutes. When done, remove hens from grill with tongs. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with grilled vegetables.
