Sweet, savory and salty bacon in a flaky pie shell. What else could you ask for? Great for brunch or breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 1 Refrigerated pie shell
  • 6 teaspoons Bonne Maman Fig Preserves
  • 2 ounces chopped dried figs
  • 2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 6 Teaspoons bacon pieces
  • 1 Egg, slightly beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line 13x9 baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
  2. Unroll pie shell and using a 3-inch round cutter, cut 12 circles, rolling left over dough if necessary. Place six circles of pastry on the lines baking sheet. Top each circle with one teaspoon preserves. Sprinkle chopped figs on top of each circle. Sprinkle cheese on top of each circle. Place one teaspoon of bacon pieces in the center of each circle.
  3. Place the other six circles on top. Using a fork, seal edges of all six pies. Using a sharp knife, cut an "x" in the center of each pie. Brush the pies with the beaten egg. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire rack and let cool slightly. Serve warm.
