This is a delicious dessert twist on a healthy breakfast staple. You eat regular oatmeal all week, so treat yourself to this version on the weekends. The flax seeds at a slightly nutty flavor and pack a nutritional punch!

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups cooked steel cut oatmeal (prepared according to package)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter, room temperature
  • 4 ripe peaches, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flax seeds
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons Bonne Maman Peach Preserves

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl combine cinnamon, brown sugar, flax seeds, flour, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a medium sized pot over medium-low heat, melt the butter and milk. Add in sliced peaches and stir until coated. Add in ingredients from dry bowl and stir until all mixed. Cover and let cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Prepare oatmeal according to package and set aside. Cover to keep warm.
  4. Add Bonne Maman Peach Preserves and give the peach cobbler a final stir.
  5. Spoon 1 cup oatmeal in each bowl. Top with 1/4 of peach cobbler.
